I was lucky enough to try this beer on tap at Blackback Pub in Waterbury VT back in May. They had some kegs in town for the Hill Farmstead anniversary event and amazingly they last through the weekend. Loved it on tap so when one of my trading partners in New Hampshire mentioned he had an extra bottle I grabbed it. This is only the second beer I have tried from 3 Floyds but Dreadnaught was an eye opener for me and what really turned me on to double IPAs.
Zombie Dust is a pale ale but like so many today it is heavily hopped. Pours a great hazy orange with a decent off white head that left a lot of lacing on the glass. Aroma has a lot of grapefruit, lemon and tropical fruits. The aromas from the bottle seemed a bit more subdued than what I remember on draft. Taste has a nice sweet start that quickly gives way to the citrus and slightly dank hops. A mild bitter finish but overall a very balanced and enjoyable beer.
Would love to try more beer from 3 Floyds so if anyone is traveling to Indiana feel free to grab some extra for me.
