Campfire Grille – Bridgton, Maine

The Campfire Grille is located on a busy stretch of Route 302 in Bridgton, Maine. It is located about 5 minutes from Shawnee Peak Ski Area and is on the way to Fryeburg and North Conway, NH. With ski season not far away and the Fryeburg Fair coming right up I am sure many of you will find yourself driving by. Next time you do stop as they have 12-taps – 10 with craft beer and 2 occupied by Bud Light and Eli’s Root Beer. The 10-taps are rotated but owner Michelle tries to keep a good mix. When I stopped by on a Friday afternoon around 2:00 there were only a few patrons which was nice as I was able to talk to the bartender and Michelle for some time while enjoying a few beers. The draft list that day included;

  • tapsAtlantic Coal Porter
  • Tuckerman’s Pale Ale
  • Shipyard Pumpkinhead
  • LandShark
  • Founders Dirty Bastard
  • Lagunitas IPA
  • Three Head’s Brewing Common Man
  • Unibroue Ephemere
  • Allagash White
  • Smuttynose Old Brown Dog

The variety of styles is very good as is the location of the brewery with some local, national and international options on tap. Even though 10 taps is not a lot compared to some of the large beer bars out there Campfire Grill still has something for everyone. They also have beer events; tap takeovers, dinners and entertainment a couple nights a week. I did not try the food on my first visit but the menu looked appetizing and I will certainly be back soon with the wife and kids. They also have a van for local pickup and drop offs so if you are planning a night out and live or are staying in the area give them a call and make a night of it.
