811. Grey Sail Brewing Captain’s Daughter
This beer from Rhode Island has been getting a lot of press lately and I finally got a can through an in person trade. First beer I have tried from Grey Sail Brewing but hopefully it won’t be the last as this beer is worth seeking out.
Slightly hazy pale orange color with an inch thick white head, similar to many other DIPAs. Aroma had loads of grapefruit and citrus hops. Taste follows with plenty of citrus, grapefruit and lemon zest with just enough malt to call it balanced. Mouthfeel, carbonation and bitterness were just right.
This is a very well crafted beer right up there with the top DIPAs. I can see why so many are trying to track down this beer.
Alcohol Content: 8.5% ABV
IBU (Bitterness): ??

Brewers Description: Our newest year-round is an Imperial India Pale Ale brewed with high-quality pilsner malt and flaked oats, making this beer light in color but certainly not in body or alcohol content. It is aggressively hopped with Mosaics out of the Pacific Northwest, giving the Captain’s Daughter a strong aroma and flavor of tropical and stone fruits.
