489. In’finiti Disbelief
In’finiti is fairly new to the Maine Beer scene but it is owned by Eric Michaud who also owns Novare Res in Portland. For the first few months their beer was only available at the restaurant and selected bars in the Portland are but they recently started selling 32 ounce growlers of most of their beer.
Disbelief is described as a Belgian Strong which is a style I don’t usually drink. I first had this one at the restaurant and was lucky enough to bring home a growler on a follow up visit. The beer pours a very dark brown almost black with a nice tan head. Aroma is a mix of dark fruit and malts and taste follows suit with a bit of spice as well. Overall this a pretty complex beer that went well with a meal and all on its own.
If you have not been to In’finiti yet visit them at 250 Commercial Street in Portland. They are open from lunch to late night each day with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
