472. In’finiti Belgian Amber
In’finiti opened a couple of months ago in Portland and only recently started selling 32 ounce growlers. On my first visit after they started selling growlers they only had 5 beers on tap so I opted for a couple that I had not tried yet. That included their Belgian Amber.
Not sure why I chose this one as amber ales are not my favorite style. This beer looks great – nice hazy amber/orange color with a sticky white head. Aroma is mostly the Belgian yeast with some sweet malts coming through as well. Overall a very appealing beer in both looks and aroma.
The taste is where this one failed me and I don’t think it was this particular beer just the amber style and the combination of the Belgian yeast which simply made a beer I did not enjoy. I have tried several beers from In’finiti at their Portland location and enjoyed them all. Unfortunately the Belgian Amber just didn’t work for me.

Brewers Description: We took our Belgian Blonde recipe and changed one of the malts. Much like the blonde, we got a dry and slightly hoppy rendition of an amber. Made exclusively with Belgian malts, perle and styrian goldings hops, and our house Trappist yeast strain.
